As what have been known since this morning, Sato Ryuga will be displaced from the main team due to elbow injury and will be planning for a TJ surgery soon. And then Kendai Takasaki will not have their ace to play in the Summer Koshien next month, and perhaps will be 'replaced' by Ishigaki Genki to fill up the ace position for a while.
The article I read about his injury report
Indeed, this news brought some disappoinment and mellow feelings. Though the school already done a quick actions to get him on surgery soon, there are some worries about his comeback to the mound after done some rehabilitation. Yet he's still in his sophomore year but no one knows what happen in the blink of time.
As my opinion, if he conducts a proper rehab time after the surgery, half a year wouldn't be a long time to recover and back to the mound early. Since his surgery planned much earlier, no risk could be worried so much for his injury. Even so, the rehabilitation time is the main problem he'd face soon.
The minimum time to recover is about a half year, but to be into a fit shape of performance in the mound could take another months depends on the recovery ability from the individual themselves. This what I worried for. He might be only gets his chance to throw again by the end of spring or in the middle of summer tournament, which could be a problem if Kendai Takasaki couldn't establish their rotation without him.
Ishigaki Genki is such an incredible pitcher, but relaying onto him only wouldn't give a much better option to stay still in the summer. All possibilty that can be occurs in the future, if that's the best for Sato Ryuga himself then it's better to happen.
